I will be blogging about working on the 365 Tiny Love Challenges from Tiny Buddha‘s Lori Deschene. I’m getting nothing in return – just a way to exercise self-love and compassion/love for others as well.
Today’s challenge is:
Write down one to three choices that often compromise your ability to be kind, and for each, one proactive thing you can do today to address that issue.
1. I’m less kind when I’m stressed and beat emotionally or mentally.
I need to meditate more, whether that is on my own or using my favorite app, Buddhify.
To make this more measurable, I want to meditate every day in the coming month. This will create a habit.
2. I’m less kind when I am around negative personalities.
I need to limit the time I spend interacting, or focusing on the interactions I have, with people who are chronically negative in a non-proactive way.
To make this more measurable, I will listen to music while I’m at work on the two days where my office mate is around.
3. I am less kind when someone has been offensive or rude to me in the past.
I need to work on learning how to let frustrations and anger with others (and myself, frankly) go.
To make this more measurable, I will bring this up at my next therapy session to work on this more.
Now that I’ve shared, what are some things that you feel make it more difficult for you to be kind?
